Frequently Asked Questions
Basics FAQs
What is the average lifespan of a hair system?
Lifespan largely depends on the base material and daily care. Ultra-thin skin and Swiss lace bases typically last around 2 to 3 months due to their natural look and thinness. Sturdier bases, such as fine mono or thicker skin units, can last up to 6 months with proper maintenance.
Can I style and heat-style my hair system?
Yes. Our hair systems feature a freestyle ventilation pattern, allowing you to comb, part, and style the hair in any direction. You can use standard styling pomades, gels, and heat tools just as you would with natural hair.
How should I clean and care for my hairpiece?
Wash the system gently using a mild, sulfate-free shampoo and moisturizing conditioner specifically formulated for hair replacements. Rinse thoroughly with cool water and let it air dry on a mannequin stand. Avoid harsh chemicals and excessive heat.
Can I swim, shower, or exercise while wearing it?
Absolutely. Once securely bonded with waterproof tape or glue, you can shower and exercise normally. When swimming in chlorinated or salt water, wearing a swim cap is recommended to protect the hair. Always rinse with fresh water afterwards and gently pat dry.
How do I safely attach and remove the hair system?
Systems are secured using specialized liquid adhesives, double-sided tapes, or perimeter clips. For removal, gently lift the base edges while applying a dedicated adhesive solvent to dissolve the bond without damaging the base or your scalp.
Can I cut and trim the hair system myself?
While you can trim it at home, we strongly advise having your system cut, styled, and blended by a professional hairstylist experienced with hair systems for the most seamless result.
What if my hair system doesn't fit correctly?
If you experience any fit issues, please contact our support team right away. We can assist you with fitting adjustments or guide you through our exchange process.
What should I do if the hair system starts shedding?
Light shedding over time is normal. Applying a knot sealer to the underside of the base can help secure the knots. If shedding is excessive, reach out to our customer support for repair or adjustment options.
Ordering & Customization FAQs
How do I choose the best base material for my needs?
Selecting a base depends on your priority: lace offers maximum breathability, thin skin provides an invisible scalp-like edge, and mono offers superior long-term durability. Consider your climate, physical activity level, and desired lifespan when choosing.
What are the main differences between Mono and Lace bases?
Mono (monofilament) bases use a woven mesh that is highly durable and holds structure well, though it is slightly thicker. Lace bases use an ultra-fine mesh that blends invisibly into the hairline and provides exceptional breathability.
What are the benefits of choosing a lace base?
Lace bases (available in French and Swiss lace) provide excellent ventilation, making them ideal for warm climates or active wearers. They create a soft, natural front hairline that mimics real hair growth.
How do I collect hair samples for an exact color match?
Take small hair samples from different sections of your head (front, crown, sides, and back), as hair color often varies across the scalp. Ensure samples are clean before sending them to our team for color analysis.
Which hair system is best suited for an active lifestyle?
Active individuals who exercise or sweat frequently should opt for breathable lace or hybrid bases (lace center with poly perimeter) paired with waterproof bonding adhesives.
How can I achieve a completely invisible hairline?
Opt for a lace front or an ultra-thin skin base with bleached knots and a graduated front density. This creates the illusion of hair growing directly out of your scalp.
