TOP 3 Common Questions

Where are you located? Do you have salons where I can try on hair systems?

LaVivid has offices in the United States and Asia, providing reliable global shipping services to customers worldwide.

We collaborate with a network of partner salons. If you can’t find a salon near you to try on, please check our list of partner salons to see if there’s any close to you.

How long will I receive the hair system after I place my order?

Delivery time depends on your location and the inventory availability. It includes processing and shipping. Stock hair systems take 3-4 business days to process, while custom orders take about 4-6 weeks.

For US orders, shipping will take 5-7 business days while for other countries and regions is 7-10 business days. Delays may occur due to crises, holidays, or other uncontrollable factors.

Can I return the product?

We accept returns and exchanges on eligible products within 45 days of delivery. To qualify, items must be in their original condition (unaltered, unworn, undamaged), with all tags and packaging intact.

For custom orders, pre-cut items, and clearance products please refer to our latest return policy. Ineligible products will be returned at your cost. Once we receive the return, we’ll contact you to process an exchange or refund.

It depends on the base design of the hair system and how well the wearer looks after their hair system. Thin skin base can usually last 2-4 months, depending on skin thickness. The thicker the skin, the longer the lifespan. Lace base and mono base can last 3-6 months, while silk base can last up to 9 months.

skin hair system is a great choice as it doesn’t have any holes compared to a lace/mono/silk base. If you plan to use glue, which adheres more effectively than tape, skin bases are easier to remove, clean, and maintain.

We offer a $40 discount on your first order when you create an account with us. This discount can be applied to any ongoing sale.

If bonded correctly, all of our hair systems can provide you with a secure attachment. If you care for your hair system properly (by removing, cleaning, and re-bonding every 1-2 weeks), it will stay securely. Nevertheless, if you are looking for the strongest attachment, many of our clients have the best experience with the full skin base. You need to apply liquid adhesive all over the scalp, which guarantees the most secure fit.

Full lace hair systems are the most breathable and light-weight styles. We also have combined bases of lace which are also breathable and easy to apply and remove. We recommend you remove the hair system and do a thorough clean once a week if you sweat a lot.

Yes, our default lace material is transparent Swiss lace, which blends seamlessly with all skin tones for a natural look. For custom orders, you can also choose brown/beige or black lace.

For the front hairline area, a thin skin base and lace base can both offer you a super natural look, while a silk base can guarantee you a scalp-like top. You can go for a combo base with a lace front.

Yes! We offer a pre-cut and styling service for an additional fee. You can choose from over 20 hairstyles or share your preferred style, and we’ll be happy to accommodate your request.

Yes, we have a detailed hair system page for new beginners and a Free Training E-course to help new customers. This free training e-course includes basic knowledge about hair systems, how to prepare your head before application, how to apply the system, how to maintain it, what hair products you will need, how to pick the best-performing tape or glue, and much more.

It will not damage your scalp or existing hair, provided the hair system is kept clean and maintained correctly. The hair system may actually provide protection to a certain extent against the sun and will protect sensitive scalps from the elements. It is also necessary to pay attention to whether your skin is allergic to glue/tapes. Do a small test on your skin before applying it to your scalp.

Lace systems feature a lightweight mesh, such as French or Swiss lace, for a natural hairline and scalp look. French lace is slightly thicker and more durable than Swiss lace, but both excel in breathability, ideal for active lifestyles. For more base details, please visit the LaVivid Base Guide.

Hybrid hair systems combine lace and skin to bring out the best of both materials. For instance, our Simois hair system features a central lace base for a soft, breathable feel, paired with thin PU skin along the perimeter for easy attachment and removal, plus a front lace section for a natural, seamless hairline. Full skin systems, on the other hand, often use a V-loop technique at the front to achieve a realistic hairline. With thicker skin, they offer strong support for denser hair and excellent durability, typically lasting longer than hybrids, depending on the skin’s thickness.

We offer Route Shipping Protection at checkout to help protect against this unwanted experience. It is available for purchase for a very small fee at checkout when selecting your shipping method. Both our international and domestic customers can opt-in for Route. Customers who are protected under Route can file claims to receive a replacement or a refund back for packages that are lost in transit, arrive damaged, or are stolen. The claim filing process includes three steps and is completely self-serve and easy to do.

When you add Route+, you can easily file claims for lost, stolen, or damaged packages in the unfortunate case that they arise. When you file a claim, it will be reviewed for approval for a reorder or refund within 24 hours.

An item is considered ‘lost’ if it is never reported as ‘delivered,’ if 7 days have passed since the last tracking status update for domestic shipments, and 20 days for international shipments, including Canada. A claim must be filed within 30 days of the last tracking update.

The route will consider a package ‘stolen’ if the package is marked ‘delivered’ but the customer did not receive it. A claim must be filed within 30 days of the ‘delivery date,’ but no sooner than 5 days to account for the possibility that the package may be found on the premises or has been marked ‘delivered’ prematurely by the carrier.

It mainly depends on which base you choose for the hair system because different bases have different lifespans. Our ultra-thin skin base (0.03mm) has a lifespan of about 2 months while our Silk base hair system can last up to a year with correct care. Besides this, the frequency you wear it and the way how you care for and maintain your hair system also affect its lifespan.

Before removing the lace hair system from the scalp, apply the spray adhesive remover to the area where the tape is and soak the tape for several minutes. Find the edge of the base in the back and lift it a little. Then use a towel to remove the tapes gently.

The total time of bonding depends on factors like the adhesive used, your skin type, the climate, and your lifestyle. We recommend you only remove it and get it cleaned every 1-2 weeks to extend the lifespan of the hair system. If you don’t sweat a lot and live in a dry climate, you can leave it on for a longer time, about 2-4 weeks. If you attach a lace hair system with liquid adhesive, we don’t recommend you to wear it for more than two weeks in a row. If you wear it for too long time, the adhesive will penetrate through the lace which makes it very difficult to clean.

Yes. You can definitely sleep, swim, and shower with it on and probably do anything in it. It shouldn’t stop you from doing anything. However, chlorine in pools can be harmful to the hair and make the hair drier. So, we would recommend you deep condition the hair after you go swimming to help refresh the hair.

Full lace hair systems are the most breathable and light-weight styles. We also have combined bases of lace and skin which are also breathable and easy to apply and remove. We recommend you remove the hair system and do a thorough clean once a week if you sweat a lot every day.

If your hair is exposed to water frequently, you are strongly recommended to use water-proof tape or adhesives. It is proved that acrylic adhesives (Ultra Hold) or a Blue Liner Lace tape functions very well for secure attachment.

Yes. Many of our customers order a lighter density in the front hairline to create a natural graduated appearance. We can also offer a lighter density around the perimeter to blend in with your hair seamlessly.
